Terms & Conditions
All items hired by The Vintage Prop Company(“VPC”) are hired with the following conditions:
General - The hirer assumes all responsibility once items are in their possession.(See damage/loss deposit)
Please ensure you keep all packaging, especially boxes. Unfortunately we can’t hire things if the boxes are lost or damaged.
Unless agreed by VPC, all props and furniture are for indoor use only. Any items left outside are done so entirely at the hirer’s risk. If we have agreed that furniture can be used outside (weather permitting), please ensure they are not left outside overnight. If stored in a marquee, please ensure they are away from the sides to avoid water damage.
All props are for decorative use only. Props such as our vintage bicycle and carts are not to be used. The Vintage Prop Company cannot be liable for any accidents and damage caused.
All our props are generally vintage items and will show signs of wear associated with age, with the exception of new items such as mason/candy jars, glassware, candy cart, bird cage etc..
Delivery - deliveries are to one location at ground floor loading by ONE man only. Assistance may be required for offloading. We will advise you if this is required and of any additional cost is applicable.
All prices assume props will be delivered one day prior to event date and collected day after event date. If props are required for a longer period than this additional charges apply.
Deliveries and collections will be made as agreed and confirmed with each client. We offer free delivery and collection within a 10 mile radius of Ladybank, Fife. Thereafter a charge is requested.
Please provide a representative to meet the driver at delivery and collection to ensure the props are checked in and out.
All props and furniture must be moved to one location by the client for collection and assistance is required to load the props. Please ensure this will be available.
Invoices issued are valid for 7 days from date of invoice. If deposit is not received within the 7 day period, VPC have the right to allocate props to another client.
Deposit - A deposit of 25% is required to secure your chosen props. Once deposit is received, your chosen items will not be made available to anyone else on your chosen date.
VAT - We are a VAT registered company, so all hire prices and services are subject to 20% VAT.
All invoices are valid for 7 days. If you require longer before paying your deposit to secure the props, please let us know and will extend where where possible.
Cancellation - As our items are unique and one of a kind, once you have booked them we cannot offer them to another client, so we do charge a cancellation fee:
Less than SIX months - 50% of the balance
Less than TWO months - 75% of the balance
Less than TWO weeks - 100% of the balance
The balance of your invoice is payable two month prior to your event day.
A damage/loss deposit cheque is to be sent to our offices two months prior to your event. This isn’t banked, but held as security whilst the prop are on loan. We will return the cheque after the safe collection of all hire items.
All damages and losses will be charged for, so please take care of the hire items whilst they are in your possession. We do not charge for general wear and tear.
All clients will be required to sign/date an Inventory of items form on delivery & collection of items. This document outlines the items being hired along with agreed hire period and deposit held.
Please ensure you have all items ready for collection, or deliver the items back to The Vintage Prop Company by the specified time. We sometimes have a very short turnaround time. A fee may need to be charged for late return.
BACS is preferable, please allow THREE working days for the transfer

The data we collect about you will be accurate and up to date wherever possible. Should you become aware that any information held by us is inaccurate please contact us any time either by telephone, post or e-mail and we will correct it.
We want to make sure we get in touch with you in the best way possible. If you don’t wish to receive communication via post, telephone or e-mail from The Vintage Prop Company , please let us know and we will opt you out of any of these services.
All your data is stored on our Host Server and is password protected to make sure no unauthorised access is possible. When placing an order, sensitive data including credit card details are transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.
